Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before booking your shoot — answered honestly.
01
Booking & Process
Fill out the inquiry form on the Contact page with your project details. I'll review it and follow up with a package recommendation and quote. Once we agree on scope and timing, I'll send a contract and invoice through my client portal to confirm the booking.
For real estate shoots, 3–5 days notice is usually fine. For construction documentation, architectural, or video projects, I recommend booking 1–2 weeks in advance to allow time for planning, scouting, and scheduling around your crew and timeline. Peak seasons (spring and fall) book faster.
For exterior shoots, weather matters. Rain is not shootable and we'll reschedule at no charge. Overcast days are actually ideal — soft, diffused light eliminates harsh shadows and produces even, flattering results for both interiors and exteriors. I monitor forecasts closely and will reach out in advance if a reschedule is needed. Interior-only shoots can proceed in any weather.
No deposit is required. Payment is due at the end of the shoot. However, a signed contract is required before any shoot can be confirmed. Once we've agreed on scope and timing, I'll send a contract through my client portal — the shoot is scheduled once it's signed.

Pricing & Packages
Real estate photography is priced by square footage — three straightforward tiers covering most properties. View the full breakdown on the Services & Pricing page. All packages include professionally edited images licensed for MLS, online marketing, and social media.
Architectural and construction shoots are quoted per project — based on scope, shoot duration, number of locations, and intended usage. Starting at $800. No two projects are the same, so I don't use a one-size-fits-all formula. Submit an inquiry and I'll put together a tailored quote within 24–48 hours.
Yes — combining photography and video in one shoot day is often the most cost-effective approach. I can build a custom package that covers both. Contact me with your project details and I'll put together a combined quote.
No travel fee for locations within a 45-minute radius of Woodland Hills — which covers most of the San Fernando Valley, West LA, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, and surrounding areas. For locations requiring more than 1 hour of travel, an additional $75 per hour applies.

The Shoot
For real estate: declutter surfaces, remove personal items, make beds, and ensure all lights are working. For architectural and construction shoots: clear walkways, remove temporary signage or debris where possible, and make sure key areas are accessible. I'll send a prep checklist after booking so nothing gets missed.
For real estate shoots, someone needs to provide access but doesn't need to stay. For construction and architectural projects, having a site contact present is helpful — especially for large or complex properties where access to specific areas needs to be coordinated. I'll communicate clearly in advance about what's needed.
Yes — I work with both. Most architectural and interior work uses a combination of available light, window light, and supplemental lighting to create images that feel natural but are technically clean and sharp. Twilight shoots use a precise mix of ambient exterior light and interior lighting for that signature blue-hour look.
Drone services are provided by our FAA Part 107 certified aerial operator. All drone work is fully licensed and insured for commercial operations. Some locations — near airports, in controlled airspace, or in certain restricted zones — require advance authorization which we handle. We'll check airspace requirements for your specific location before the shoot and advise if any restrictions apply.
04
Delivery & Files
Standard delivery is 3 business days at no extra charge. Need it faster? Next-day delivery is available for $49, and same-day delivery for $99. Video projects have longer turnaround times depending on scope — discussed at booking.
All images are delivered as high-resolution JPEGs through your secure client portal — ready for print, web, MLS upload, and social media. You can download them directly from the portal at any time. Files are stored in your portal for 90 days after delivery.
Minor adjustments — brightness, color corrections, straightening — are included at no charge if flagged within 5 business days of delivery. Significant re-editing or reshooting due to scope changes are quoted separately. My goal is for you to love every image delivered.
RAW files are not provided. All deliverables are professionally edited, high-resolution JPEGs — ready for print, web, MLS, and social media use.
05
Licensing & Usage
All packages include a license for online marketing, your website, MLS listings, and social media. For real estate, the license is valid until the property is sold. For architectural and construction work, usage is agreed upon at the time of booking and can include portfolio use, press submissions, and award entries.
Print usage requires an additional license, quoted based on the intended use and distribution. This includes magazines, brochures, billboards, newspaper ads, and packaging. Contact me with the details of the intended print use and I'll provide a licensing quote.
Copyright remains with the photographer — Linda Kasian / iPhotographyhomes — as is standard in professional photography. You receive a license to use the images for agreed purposes. Resale or redistribution of images to third parties is not permitted without written agreement.
Other parties involved in the project — architect, interior designer, general contractor, or developer — may license the same images at an additional fee. This is called cost-sharing and is standard practice in architectural photography.
How it works: Each additional party pays a licensing fee of 30% of the original shoot cost. The combined total is then divided equally among all parties — so everyone pays less than they would have individually, and I earn more for the broader value the images provide.
Important: Cost-sharing rates only apply when all parties commit before or within two weeks of the shoot date. After that window, additional parties pay a standard licensing fee at a higher rate. The original client's pricing is not reduced — it remains as quoted. This is a separate additional license, not a split of the original invoice.
Contact me before your shoot to discuss cost-sharing arrangements.

Architectural & Construction
Yes — and it's one of my specialties. I understand construction timelines and site protocols. I work efficiently around your crew without disrupting operations, and I know how to find the shots that show progress and craftsmanship even in a mid-construction environment. Safety requirements on site are always followed.
Absolutely — and I'd recommend it. Pre-construction, framing, mid-build, and final reveal documentation tells the full story of a project and is invaluable for your portfolio, marketing, and client presentations. Multi-stage project packages can be arranged at a discounted combined rate.
Yes — and this is something I actively help with. Award submissions (AIA, NKBA, local builder awards) and press placements require high-quality, publication-ready images. I shoot architectural projects with this end use in mind. If you're targeting a specific publication or award, let me know at the time of booking so I can plan the shoot accordingly.
I studied and practiced architecture before I became a photographer. That means I understand the design intent behind what I'm shooting — not just what it looks like, but what it means. I don't just document your project. I photograph it the way it was designed to be seen. That difference shows in every image.
